After acting together in 'Kalapani', a historical narrative that showed the dooming horror that was prevalent in the cellular jail in Andaman Nicobar islands, Mohanlal and Tamil superstar Prabhu are all set to act together in Priyadarshan's upcoming big-budget project 'Kunjali Marakkar'. It is after 22 years that these two powerhouse actors are working together in a movie after the release of 'Kalapani' in 1996 which was also directed by Priyadarshan. Though Prabhu was approached to play a role in 'Pulimurugan', the plan didn't work out.
Prabhu who debuted in Mollywood through the epic movie Kalapani then went on to act in few more Malayalam movies like 'Malayali Mamanu Vanakkam', 'War and Love', 'Best of Luck', 'Pramani' etc.The casting for Priyadarshan's movie named 'Kunjali Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham' is in progress and veteran actor Madhu has been drafted to play the role of Marakkar first.
Reports suggest that senior actors from Hindi and Tamil will also be roped in to play important characters in this period drama which will be mostly filmed in the outer sea. The movie will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Confident Group and Moon Shot Entertainment.
