Aashiq Abu’s next movie 'Virus' is based on Nipah outbreak

Malayalam filmmaker Aashiq Abu officially announced about his next project on his Facebook page. Monday he posted that the movie will be based on the outbreak of Nipah virus. He already revealed the starcast too. The film will feature many famed actors around the industry. Rima Kallingal, Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, Parvathy, Kalidas Jayaram, Soubin Shahir, Remya Nambeesan, Dileesh Pothen and Chemban Vinod will be playing the lead of the movie.

The Nipah outbreak happened earlier this year in Kerala and spread as a national threat rapidly. It took as many as 17 lives in Kozhikode and Malappuram districts.

'Virus' will show how the state took prompt measures to successfully contain the disease through a semi-romantic drama.

The film is jointly written by Muhasin, Suhas and Sharafu. Rajeev Ravi will be taking care of cinematography. Sushin Shyam will lead the music department. The film is produced by OPM.
