Popular tamil actor Rocket Ramanathan passed away today morning

Rocket Ramanathan was once a prominent figure in Tamil cinema. He is said to be one of the first artists who plays comedy in Tamil industry. He acted in films like Mansoru, Koil Yaanai, and Valartha Keda. Ramanathan breathed his last in Chennai. He was 74. He has received awards from Tamil Nadu State Government and Nadigar Sangam (South Indian Artistes' Association).

Ramanathan made his debut in his film Sparisam in 1982 . He also acted alongside Kamal Haasan and Vijayakanth in the film Manakanakku. Ramanathan participated in the Anti-Hindi Agitation of Tamil Nadu that happened in the 1970s and was jailed for the same.

Ramanathan is survived by his wife Bhanumathi, children Sai Bala and Sai Guru Balaji.
