Rajinikanth arrived Varanasi to shoot for 'Petta'

Superstar Rajinikanth arrived Varanasi for the shoot of his film 'Petta' in Friday afternoon. He was wearing his usual white kurta while coming out from the airport. Varanasi is gradually becoming one of the hot spots for movie shooting these days.

The city is known for its spirituality. Many international and national tourists visit the place for the exclusive experience. Many Bollywood films were filmed in Varanasi. Such films are like 'Masaan', 'Raanjhanaa', 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag', and the latest release 'Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain'. South Indian films are also showing interest on shooting film around the charm of the bank of Ganges. Last year superstar Mohanlal starrer Malayalam film 'Odiyan' was also have few shots filmed on this city.

The film is directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Simran Bagga, Trisha Krishnan are also playing important roles in the film. Several local artists are also hired for supporting role too. Line producer Rajendra Ghimire said "We will be shooting for nearly a month on the outskirts of Banaras, Chunar and Mirzapur. Apart from Rajini sir, scenes involving actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vijay Sethupathi will be also be canned during the shoot. We have arranged for adequate personal security to avoid any incident of mobbing."
