Last weekend 'Article 15' was released and the film was a huge hit like any other film of Ayushmann Khurrana. Like his previous roles this time also Ayushmann digs into a sociological behavior of our country. But only goes deeper this time. Viewers casted mixed reactions - some are happy and appreciated the story and art but some felt offended for some obvious reasons. But from a critical perspective this film is a five star rated. Trade analyst Girish Johar said,
"Carrying his vision forward Ayushmann again treads a different & difficult path...and yet again comfortably."
Hansal Mehta liked Article 15 so much that he watched it twice and called the movie 'atmospheric, riveting and very well acted'. He said,
"Article 15 is very well written. Director Anubhav Sinha and writer Gaurav Solanki make a great team."

1. The teaser of the film was released on 27th May. On the same day in 2014, gang rape and murder of two teenage girls from a minority cast was reported in the Katra village of Budaun district in Uttar Pradesh. CBI concluded that there was no gang rape and the suspects were released. However, on 28 October 2015 the POCSO court rejected the CBI closure report.
2. The film also portrayed 2016 Una flogging incident. In July 2016, seven members of a Dalit family were assaulted by a group of people in pretext of cow protection in Una in Gujarat, India. The video of the incident was circulated on the social media resulting in statewide protests in following months.
3. The film is written by the director Anubhav Sinha and Gaurav Solanki. Solanki previously written songs for Ugly, Daas Dev and Veere Di Wedding. But this one is his first attempt as film story writer.
4. 'Article 15' was selected as opening film for the 10th edition of the London Indian Film Festival and was premiered on June 20.
