Gary Dauberman to direct new 'Annabelle' project

The writer behind the 'Annabelle' movie, Gary Dauberman will make his directorial debut with an untitled Annabelle project. The movie will be based on a devil doll from 'The Conjuring' cinematic universe. It will be again produced by James Wan's Atomic Monster and the Peter Safran Co. Reportedly, the story of the film will focus on the porcelain doll that is possessed by a demonic force.
Annabelle premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on September 29, 2014, and was theatrically released in the United States on October 3, 2014. The film received generally negative reviews from critics but was a box office success, grossing over $257 million against its $6.5 million production budget.
John R. Leonetti directed the first movie and the prequel, 'Annabelle: Creation' was directed by David Sandberg. The new Annabelle project will release on July 3, 2019.
