Emraan Hashmi-starrer Cheat India has been changed to Why Cheat India due to compliance issue raised by none other than Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The movie has not more than a week left to release. The film’s co-producer Tanuj Garg told, "The Board had concerns about the previous title. We had an extensive conversation about the proposed changes since the theatrical trailer and TV promos have already been certified with the original title. We felt this could lead to dual communication with the audience but finally, in the interest of time, we mutually agreed on a title change."
As the makers don't have much time for a big conversation with the board they accepted the proposal and decides to do the whole process of registering the title again for various media business. In recent times CBFC's interventions becomes a serious problem for movie makers. As Padmavat and LoveYatri and many more films suffer a lot due to their ridiculous decision of changing film titles.
