In an interview with Zoom, Kiara said, "I think the film chose me it was in my destiny. I had watched the original (Arjun Reddy) and absolutely loved it. It just so happened that the director saw my performance in Dhoni and met me. Sandeep (Vanga) sir was the one who saw Preeti in me." She also added, "Working with Shahid on the Urvashi single was a fun experience. We all know he is an amazing dancer and a great actor. The whole vibe on the sets of Urvashi was magical! He has a very contagious energy and I am really looking forward to shoot with him again. It's an intense film so it'll be different from the vibe of the song."

'Kabir Singh' is hindi remake of Telugu film 'Arjun Reddy' starring Vijay Deverakonda. The original was directed by Sandeep Vanga. The film was a big hit. Reportedly it will be remade in Tamil as well as Malayalam too.
