Rajkumar Santoshi has just reported his new project on Sikh warrior Fateh Singh. And surprisingly he chose Sunny Deol for this period drama. 22 years back Sunny Deol worked with the famed director in 'Ghatak'. Even before that they worked in 'Ghayal' and that movie was a blockbuster hit. Rajkumar Santoshi previously approached Sanjay Dutt for the role but he was not able to do the same due to date issues. A source told Mumbai Mirror, "When Rajkumar Santoshi had announced the film in 2013, he had wanted to cast Sanjay Dutt in the lead but it didn't work out due to date issues. Now, he has locked the final script with Sunny's nod."
In 2002 Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi clashed at box office with their respective films. Sunny Deol came up with '23rd March 1931: Shaheed' and Rajkumar Santoshi directed 'The Legend Of Bhagat Singh' with Ajay Devgan. Since that clash they stopped working with each other. This will be their come back in silver screen together.
Sunny told PTI, "We start the film around February-March next year and then finish it off. I can't give the space the film is set in but it's a complete story and is a character driven film, like we have done before. My character goes through a journey, and it's about that. I begin the film after wrapping up my son's debut."
