Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Is The Highest-Paid Actor For Second Year In A Row

Forbes released the list of top 10 highest paid male actors of 2020. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson tops the list for the second year in a row. Last year Netflix paid around $110 million to The Rock, Ryan Reynolds, Mark Wahlberg, Ben Affleck and Vin Diesel collectively as per their contract. They all came to the top 5 in the list. Forbes said,

Earnings estimates are based on data from Nielsen, ComScore, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders. All figures are pretax and reflect earnings between June 1, 2019, and June 1, 2020; fees for agents, managers and lawyers (generally 10%, 15% and 5%, respectively) are not deducted. The list of highest-paid female actors will be out next month.

Previously Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson achieved the top rank in 2016 and in 2019. In 2016 he earned $64.5 million to become the highest paid actor. Last year in 2019, Johnson brought home $89.4 million from starring in "Jumanji: The Next Level" among other projects.

#1. Dwayne Johnson

Between June 2019 and June 2020, Johnson earned around $87.5 million. He made $23.5 million alone from his contract for the upcoming Netflix film "Red Notice". In addition, Johnson also earned significant amount from his clothing franchise, Project Rock.

#2. Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds came 2nd in the list with a total income of $71.5 million. Reynolds was paid $20 million for upcoming Netflix film "Red Notice" and another $20 million from another Netflix film "Six Underground." A third Netflix film starring Reynolds is also in the works, bringing another hefty paycheck.

#3. Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg, came in third place with $58 million. His earnings come from the action comedy "Spenser Confidential" as well as his production roles on documentaries like "McMillions" and "Wahl Street."

#4. Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck follows with $55 million in earnings from his return to the big screen in "The Way Back" and "The Last Thing He Wanted." He is in the fourth position from the top.

#5. Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel made total $54 million last year. His production role on Netflix's animated spin-off, "Fast and Furious Spy Races," paid him most of the amount. With the release of "Fast and Furious 9" he is expected to earn a lot more this year.
