It seems John Wick is not yet tired of fighting bad guys. We all know that the fourth part of the famous franchise is in the process of making. Today Lionsgate confirmed 'John Wick 5'. They also said that not only is John Wick 5 happening, but the plan is to film both John Wick 4 and John Wick 5 back to back once filming is able to resume. Chief Executive Officer of Lionsgate Entertainment, Jon Feltheimer said,

We're also busy preparing scripts for the next two installments of our John Wick action franchise, with John Wick 4 slated to hit theaters Memorial Day weekend 2022. We hope to shoot both John Wick 4 and 5 back to back when Keanu becomes available early next year.

The neo-noir action series started back in 2014. When the first John Wick movie came out it earned lots of praise for its action sequences and simple, yet effective, story. The movie also gave Keanu Reeves a big boost in his career. It was a big hit at the box office, grossing $86 million worldwide against a $20 million production budget. After that in 2017 'John Wick: Chapter 2' hit the theaters, and last year the third installment 'John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum' came out. Each installment has proven to be a bigger hit than the last.

However, the fifth installment is likely quite a few years away from release. John Wick 4 was originally supposed to premiere in 2021. Due to the ongoing corona virus pandemic, it is currently scheduled to be released on May 27, 2022. Another Keanu Reeves movie 'Bill & Ted Face the Music' is coming out this month. It is slated to premiere on August 28.
