Nokia launched a new smartphone in the budget friendly C series. Right now the phone is available only in China. It is currently up for pre-orders in the country and will go on sale starting August 13. So far, the brand has not spoken about the global availability of the Nokia C3. This phone is solely for the entry level Android users who want smart features without spending too much of their hard-earned money.

It comes with a relatively older design aesthetic with thick bezels, especially on the top and bottom. The back panel in made out of plastic. The phone is available in two colours. It comes in Nordic Blue and Gold Sand colour options. The phone measures 159.9x77x8.69mm and weighs 184.5 grams.

Nokia C3 features a 5.99-inch HD+ (720x1,440 pixels) IPS display with 400 nits of brightness. But we are disappointed to see thick top and bottom bezels as other Chinese manufacturers are offering bezel less design even in their entry level models. The screen is protected with Gorilla glass.

Processing & Storage

The phone is powered by an Unisoc SC9863A octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. The Nokia C3 comes with 32GB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).

In terms of optics, the Nokia C3 has a single 8-megapixel image sensor on the back with an f/2.0 lens. The LED flash is also present in a vertical orientation below the camera sensor. For selfies, the phone comes with a 5-megapixel image sensor with an f/2.4 lens, housed in the giant bezel on top of the display.

The phone supports dual 4G nano sim with VoLTE. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Micro-USB port for charging.

There is a 3,040mAh battery with 5W charging, which Nokia claims can provide up to 31 hours of audio playback and up to 7 hours of video playback.

The sensors on the Nokia C3 include an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, acceleration sensor, and a fingerprint scanner on the back. There is also an Xpress button that can be mapped with a feature or an app for quick access.

The Nokia C3 is available in only one configuration - 3GB + 32GB. It is priced at CNY 699 (Rs. 7,500) in China. But in India we can expect the phone at a cheaper price of Rs. 6,999.
