'Bharat' is released on 5 June on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr this year. And even before that, the movie is in the news for its star casting - Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. As a Bhaijaan movie 'Bharat' was an out-of-the-box success. The film is also co-produced by Salman Khan Films - production firm owned by you know who. Story of the film is written by Ali Abbas Zafar and he is the director too. Previously Ali Abbas Zafar and Salman Khan duo gave 'Sultan' in 2016 and it was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Director. In 2017 they gifted 'Tiger Zinda Hai'. This year with 'Bharat' they successfully performed a hattrick.
The film also stars Tabu, Sunil Grover, Disha Patani and Jackie Shroff in significantly important roles. Even when critically judged 'Bharat' got somewhat positive reviews by critics. The film traces India's post-independence history from the perspective of a common man and follows his life from the age of 18 to 70.

During the Partition of India in 1947, Bharat's father stays back in present-day Pakistan and makes his eight-year-old son promise to lead the household and keep the family together. Bharat joins The Great Russian Circus in 1964 and earns a reputation for being a playboy. The discovery of oil in the Gulf region in the mid-1970s leads to a subsequent Indian migration to the territory; here, Bharat begins a romantic relationship with his chief engineer Kumud Raina. He volunteers for the Indian Navy and later holds the family business together during the period leading to economic liberalization in the 1990s, all the while keeping his promise to his father.
