Unveiled at CES 2020, the G9, at last, joins the Odyssey line-up, which has completely reinvented the gaming experience. The 49-inch G9 is the world's first Dual Quad High-Definition monitor which has 32:9 aspect ratio with 5120x1440 resolution. To run this monitor you will definitely need a much powerful system - likely a dual graphics card built.

This gaming monitor also offers 1000R curvature. The human eye actually produces a field of view with a forward-facing arc which is similar to a curvature rating of 1000R. The 'R', in this case, stands for radius, while the number before it is the radius in millimeters. So this one gets a radius of 1 meter. If this curve is not sexy enough, you must see an eye specialist this weekend.

The G9 sports a 240Hz refresh rate and a 1ms pixel response time. You won't have to choose between extra-smooth performance and high-res visuals. It can deliver you the best of both worlds. It can handle HDR1000 brightness as well as AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync. The monitor is not yet available but will be available very soon. Price of this one could be around $1800.

Hyesung Ha, Senior Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics said,

Following our recent announcement of the Odyssey G7 curved gaming monitor, the G9 now joins the portfolio as the first dual QHD gaming monitor with 1000R curvature. This further solidifies Samsung's leadership in the global gaming monitor market, with innovation happening at an unprecedented rate. Samsung's Odyssey G9 curved gaming monitor takes immersive gaming to the next level, giving any gamer the upper hand.

In addition, the G9 pursues an innovative and futuristic design with a glossy white exterior. It also houses Infinity Core Lighting, which allows 52 different colours and five lighting effect options behind the display. Lastly, judging by its look, this one definitely goes well with a complementary PS5.
