WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging platforms in the world. After Facebook acquired the company in 2014, we have seen many interesting updates in this popular platform. We have seen dark mode, animated stickers in the latest update.

But those are just the beginning, they are working on many more advance features right now. Few are even released as beta. These updates are not cosmetic, these are highly functional and will make your life much easier. Here are 5 such new and upcoming WhatsApp features to watch out for.

Multi-device Support

With multi-device support, all the devices that are logged in with that account will receive the same message. Further, all the previous actions such as starring a message, archiving of chats will also be in sync across all devices. Users with more than one phone can get sure benefit from this ultimate feature.

Expiring Messages

This feature will help you to send a message with an expiration period. These messages will expire within a certain time limit. The settings enable you to turn off the messages in 7 days once you set it. You can also customise it to last for a week, or even just one hour! Sensitive messages will be more secure with this feature.

Permanently Mute Group

WhatsApp notifications can be annoying, especially if you have joined a couple of super active groups. Right now one can mute a group for maximum one year. With latest update you will be able to permanently mute notifications from selected groups. Really useful for someone who doesn't want to be bothered by unwanted messages.

Inbuilt Browser

This feature is not the super exciting like others. It could be rather inconvenient. Right now Facebook and few other applications are using inbuilt browsers to show web pages. WhatsApp is going to add this feature. It could be helpful but most of the time inbuilt browsers are not as good as the popular browsers like Firefox or Chrome.

138 New Emojis

You have already got few and many more are coming in next updates. WhatsApp has rolled out 138 new emojis in the latest Android beta version of the app. These emojis add new professions such as chef, farmer, painter and many more. Emoji updates are not given as a whole - few are added in each update.
