Most TV manufacturers generally focus on improving the screen size or display resolution. Some companies are already offering TVs with 8K resolution. However, few popular brands are trying to come up with innovative technologies such as rolling or transparent displays.
Xiaomi is constantly introducing sophisticated devices, especially the TV models which are well received in India. Yesterday they launched a translucent version of smart TV - Mi TV LUX OLED in China. The new 55-inch Xiaomi Smart TV has an edge-to-edge full-HD OLED display that looks like a simple glass slab when turned off. And when you turn on this device, you feel like the picture is simply floating in the air.
The device features a transparent OLED panel with 93% DCI-P3 wide color range, 150000:1 contrast ratio and 10-bit HDR support. The translucent panel has an refresh rate of 120 Hz. This device also comes with MEMC (Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation) technology. MEMC technology artificially adds frames to a video with a low frame rate to achieve a higher frame rate and gives it better smoothness.
The TV will have a MediaTek 9650 processor. It is also integrated with AI Master Engine, Dolby Atmos and MIUI for TV. This smart TV is designed to better demonstrate the visual features and strength of the transparent screen.
Xiaomi introduced the 65-inch Mi TV Lux earlier this year. This new version has most of the specifications the same, but reduces the panel size to 55-inch and has a see-through display. The TV is now available only in China and will go on sale from August 16th for CNY 49,999 (approximately Rs. 5,38,469).
